Oh, Anna! I feel for you, dear. I didn't mention this earlier, but your father's plight mirrored my father-in-law's last day, fifteen years ago. He was 73, and died, quite unexpectedly, of congestive heart failure. He was a good man, as I'm sure your father was, too...to raise a loving person such as you.
My own father died, unexpectedly, 20 years ago at age 66. I still grieve. There's a hole in my heart that can never be filled. That's just the way of life and love. Be grateful he didn't suffer. Be grateful for all that he did for you and meant to you.
Know this: you'll love him more with every passing year...
Anna, I'm so very very sorry to hear about this. I know how it feels and knowing that, I sit with you while you grieve. It's a terrible loss. In time you'll remember more and more about the happy times and less and less about his final moments.
Oh Anna I am very sorry to hear this. I hate these 'real world' intrusions because we are always so unprepared and it just seems so stupid that things change.
I lost my Dad in 1980 and it took a long time to come to terms with it and to grasp the enormity of his gentle quiet countenace.
