Cuba si!

We went to Cuba last month. We stayed in Varadero at an all-inclusive resort for one week. We took day trips into Varadero city and Havana - did lots of sight-seeing and absorbing of the local culture. The beach was lovely. The weather was perfect. The water was breathtakingly beautiful. Some photos have been posted for your viewing pleasure.

Excellent photos Anna and glad you two had such a great journey.

Seeing John trying to do the board sailing thing was reminiscent of my own experience...falling all the time, at least at first.

Terrific pix and looks like fun was had by all.

I have never been there but my eldest daughter went to Cuba and she loved it!
..she was there to dance for schoolchildren and said that the kids, beaches, and old cars were beautiful.

It's weird that the last remnant of the Cold War is the ridiculous standoff between this little, pipsqueak, island, nation, and the collossus a mere 90 miles away.

WW - I took a little video clip with my cell phone of him trying to get on that thing and within seconds all you hear is me cracking up in laughter as he falls off.

Despite the downfalls, Cuba was still fun.

miranda - I love that you always post such fun pictures. I'm looking forward to seeing more.

HE - You should go. The people are just lovely.

The downfalls, or the falldowns? Those things are incredibly tough, those sailboards...but incredibly fun too.

I didn't try it because I don't feel comfortable in deep water. I'm fine as long as I can touch the ground with my feet and still have my head above water. Pathetic, isn't it?

However, I'm proud to say that I have started swimming lessons! Every Tuesday night! I'm very excited and can't wait to be confident and comfortable and skilled enough in the water so that I can not only frolic freely in the water, but also move on to scuba diving! YAY!!! :)
